I’ve lived in all four of the corner states. All have their treasures, and all of them have a preferred season for visiting. That said, out of Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona, the latter has the most spectacular winter wonderland with consistently good weather for a good adventure or experience. Sedona has become is one of those spots that you might want to consider for a Christmas or new year’s stay with an average high temperature of 60 degrees and only three days of rain on average. The winter activities range greatly from skiing in the high ranges of Flagstaff to boundless rock climbing in Prescott. The sight of snow-capped mountains while you climb in a t-shirt while in the sun is an experience for anyone with a thirst for warm weather winter adventure!
One really great thing in Arizona is that if you need to ratchet up the heat, all you need to do is travel farther South. Phoenix and Tucson are consistently 10 degrees warmer than Sedona and Prescott, and have great dining and nightlife to experience after your winter adventure. Tucson in particular boasts the best Mexican food in the United States! Just check out Visit Tucson for all the restaurant information. Nearby, you have Mount Lemmon where you’ll find thousands of rock climbing routes to experience as well as great canyoneering activities. Canyoneering is a great way to combine a hiking experience with some exciting rappelling activities thrown in. The winter wonderland in Arizona is likely to become more and more of a destination in the months and years ahead.
